APICS Train the Trainer Course dates to be announced

Becoming a trainer is not just about being a subject matter expert, it requires an insight into how others learn as well as being able to transfer knowledge.  The two-day interactive APICS Train The Trainer (TTT) prepares trainers to teach adult training and APICS development courses.  The course is suitable for both supply chain and operations management professionals and other subject matter experts wishing develop in the role of a trainer.  This APICS course provides successful and workable methodology that can be applied to teaching any subject. The course is a requirement for new Instructors for the Certificate in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), and Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTD) .

Train the Trainer Overview

The Train the Trainer course has been developed to introduce Instructors to the basics of effective instruction.  We will be exploring some tools that will help you effectively prepare to teach and we will provide ideas on how to enhance lesson plans to increase your effectiveness in the classroom.

Please note that this course is about the techniques of effective instruction and can be applied to any subject matter.  This course is not designed to cover the instruction of any specific APICS body of knowledge topic.

This APICS course provides 10 lesson plans for instructors with a successful and workable methodology that can be applied to teaching any subject.

Lessons cover topics including:

  • the training process
  • learning objectives and lesson plans
  • effective media selection and use
  • learning styles, communication and motivation
  • dealing with learner challenges
  • training evaluation
  • practice instruction
  • Course participants will develop and deliver presentations for in-house peer review.

Course Tutor:

Ken Titmuss, B.Sc. (Prod. Eng), CFPIM, CSCP, SCOR-P, CPF, PLS, CS&OP, CDDP, CSCA, CDDL, DDPP, DDLP, DDFP

Ken runs his own business, Kent Outsourcing Services, consulting with well over 200 companies and providing their employees with education courses in Operations and Supply Chain Management over the last 30 years.

Ken has been very involved with SAPICS for over this period from running the Cape Town Chapter, to being on the Board of Directors and holding the position of President twice.

Ken is an instructor for the APICS CPIM, CSCP, CLTD and Instructor Development Programs TTT, LDI and AIS. He is also an instructor for the DDI DDP and DDL courses as well as a certified trainer for The Fresh Connection business simulation software from Inchainge.

Over the last 30 years, Ken has presented many papers and workshops at South African and overseas Supply Chain conferences as well as presenting APICS and DDI classes in more than 15 countries around the world.

His main focus today is developing people as instructors to improve the delivery of the excellent APICS course material as well as promoting and implementing the new methodology of Demand Driven Materials Requirements Planning, from the DDI, that is destined to replace the majority of materials planning systems we have been using for the last 50 years.

This course is one of the prerequisites before joining the APICS Instructor Development Program and to become a Demand Driven Institute (DDI) Instructor
