The Society is a not for profit volunteer led organisation for supply chain and operations management professionals. Affiliated with the global accrediting body of APICS, it is the Premier Channel partner for APICS qualifications in Ireland. Our objectives are to raise the profile and awareness for Supply Chain & Operations qualifications, to encourage people to be successful in their careers through becoming certified, and to act as the industry professional network in Ireland so peers can learn from each other, share ideas and above all else, get to know each other
The Society was founded in May 1981 by professionals working in leading Irish based companies and is a limited company registered in Dublin. It has developed significantly in the intervening years and currently has members throughout Ireland. IPICS has been instrumental in facilitating supply chain and manufacturing professionals to keep abreast of the latest developments in manufacturing through its education, seminars and other training courses. Many members have moved or stepped on from the humble starts to senior positions in companies in Ireland and beyond so the members network is always growing in terms of numbers and influence
It is a leading promoter of education and training in Supply Chain Management, including, Production, Planning, Operations, Inventory, Materials Management, Procurement, and Logistics in Ireland. IPICS is the Premier Channel Partner of ASCM, Association for Supply Chain Management (formerly known as APICS) in Ireland
ASCM is the leading International Professional Certification body for Supply Chain Management. Its CPIM, CSCP, CLTD and CTSC qualifications are regarded as the benchmark for all similar Supply Chain certifications worldwide.
