Privacy Statement: The Irish Production and Inventory Control Society Ltd (known as IPICS the Supply Chain Institute).

This statement describes privacy practices relating to any personal information provided to IPICS by members, and non-members enquiring about IPICS and APICS membership, courses and examinations. This includes any information submitted to the website owned and controlled by IPICS (www.ipics.ie).

We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of other websites to which we may link including www.apics.org.

Who is the Irish Production & Inventory Control Society Ltd (IPICS)?

IPICS The Supply Chain Management Institute is the leading promoter of education and training in Supply Chain and Operations Management in Ireland. It is a limited company with no share capital registered in Ireland. It is a not for profit organisation with offices in Dublin, Ireland and is a Premier Channel Partner of APICS in Ireland.

General Statement

IPICS fully respects your right to privacy and will not collect any personal information about you including the information gathered on the IPICS website, without your clear permission. Any personal information which you volunteer to us will be treated with the highest standards of security and confidentiality, strictly in accordance with the Data Protection Regulation.

Collection and Use of Personal Information

We collect the following types of personal information via our website, telephone and email queries to IPICS, including the exam and course application process:

  • Names and email addresses for responding to general queries.
  • Personal information of applicants for IPICS/APICS membership, course and exam applicants including names, addresses, phone numbers.
  • Personal contact details of non-members who register for IPICS events or courses.
  • Information which is collected via a form or forms explicitly described as course application and exam entry forms.
  • Note: this information is stored by IPICS for a maximum of 7 years and is then deleted.


Payment Information

When you use the IPICS website to shop for or to purchase IPICS memberships, certification courses, certification testing, or other materials, IPICS utilizes third-party payment processors, as its agents (“Payment Agents”) to process your payment and provide payment verification to IPICS concerning your payment.  IPICS and its Payment Agents utilize systems whereby we substitute a proxy set of identifying information for your real financial information.  Our Payment Agents, which do handle your credit cards and other payment information, are PCI Data Security Standard (“PCI DSS”) compliant.  As a result, IPICS does not collect or store your credit card numbers or other similar financially-related Personal Information and it isn’t exposed more than necessary. IPICS will not provide the personal information of any Member or subscriber to a third party other than APICS.  APICS course and examination registration will be highlighted as requiring the provision of specific personal details to third parties e.g. name and address data for the purpose of course and exam registration.

Note: APICS is located, outside the European Union, in the United States of America. IPICS is not responsible for the privacy of data submitted to APICS on behalf of APICS exam candidates or those requesting APICS membership.

Summarised, statistical data, which cannot be used to identify any individuals, may be provided to third parties.

Security of Personal Information

IPICS takes the security of your Personal Information very seriously.  When your Personal Information is stored by IPICS, we use reasonable and appropriate measures to protect it from loss, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction.  Unfortunately, data transmission over public networks cannot be guaranteed to be one hundred per cent secure.  While IPICS will use all reasonable means to protect your Personal Information, IPICS cannot guarantee the security of your transmissions of such Personal Information, and you use the IPICS website at your own risk.  If you suspect your Personal Information has been compromised, please notify the IPICS data protection officer at  admin@ipics.ie attention of Data Protection Officer IPICS.


Your Rights Regarding Data Supplied via this Website

You have a right to be given a copy of your personal data which you may have supplied via this website. To exercise this right, you must write to IPICS at the address below, or e-mail admin@ipics.ie and mark for attention of the data protection officer IPICS.

You should include any personal identifiers which you supplied earlier by email, post or via the website (e.g. Name; address; phone number; e-mail address). Your request will be dealt with as soon as possible and will take no more than 1 month to process.

You also have a right to have inaccurate information corrected.  If you discover that IPICS holds inaccurate information about you, you have a right to instruct us to correct that information. Such an instruction must be in writing or via e-mail. A request will be dealt with as soon as possible and will take no more than 1 month to process.

In certain circumstance you may also request that data which you have supplied via the website be deleted. To exercise this right, you would generally be expected to identify some contravention of data protection law in the manner in which IPICS processes the data concerned.

Data Breach

While IPICS will, at all times, endeavour to protect your personal data, in the event of any data breach involving your personal data, you will be notified as soon as IPICS becomes aware of the breach.

Collection and Use of Technical Information

Technical details in connection with visits to the www.IPICS.ie website is logged by us for our statistical purposes. No information is collected that could be used by us to identify website visitors. The technical details logged are confined to the following items:

  • The IP address of the visitor’s web server.
  • The top-level domain name used (for example .ie, com, org, net).
  • The previous website address from which the visitor reached us, including any search terms used.

In the event of any change to the IPICS Privacy Policy, notice of such changes will be posted on the IPICS website.  Any changes to this Privacy Policy will become effective when we post the revised Privacy Policy on the IPICS website.
