APICS Certification Maintenance

Your certification is evidence that you keep up to date with developments in the supply chain profession. APICS introduced its certification maintenance program to validate that certification holders continue to be involved in educational and training programs related to the APICS body of knowledge, and to encourage them to be involved with IPICS or APICS as a volunteer.

APICS differentiate between active and inactive CPIMs and CSCPs- only those with up to date certification maintenance can use the CPIM and CSCP designations.

Membership of IPICS/APICS, attendance at IPICS events and training courses are among the activities that can be used for claiming maintenance points.

Streamlined Certification Maintenance

Starting 2014, designees will be able to maintain their certifications using a simpler process. While maintenance requirements remain the same, designees will no longer be required to report detailed maintenance activities to APICS in their maintenance application.  Instead, designees will only be required to submit documentation if they are audited by APICS. In addition, applicants will be immediately notified if they will be audited or if their application has been accepted. These improvements are designed to simplify the maintenance process and encourage more designees to maintain their hard-earned certifications.
